STEP 3: The Crossroads

Now that you understand the reason why Jesus came, you must decide what you will do with Him. This is a crossroads decision. Are you ready to make that choice? If you still have any reservations it is good not to be hasty in your decision. The Bible itself stresses mindful consideration by saying, "For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it" (Luke 14:28).  Don't be in a rush. Deeply consider the claims of Christ, and His teaching. It's important to receive Jesus with a whole heart (Psalms 199:2,10, 34, 58, 69). Also remember that this is your decision alone!  You should not allow this decision to be made by anyone else...no matter how close they may be to you. No amount of obligation to friends and family or intimidation should  influence this important step of faith.

Jesus taught in the 21st chapter of Luke, that there would be signs that would indicate the end times and His imminent return. But there are no guarantees that all will see these signs. It's also true that no one knows the appointed hour when their time here on earth is done. It could be in 50 years... it could be in 50 minutes. Jesus stands ready and knocks at the door of everyone's heart (Revelation 3:20).

It's all very simple. Any child can understand it. The choice is left up to you.  Faith in Jesus leads to a certain amount of self denial, the lost favor of some relations, friends and the disapproval of a world estranged from God. We become sojourners... pilgrims who claim the heavenly inheritance of Jesus. But our strength is made supernaturally sufficient and inexhaustible in Christ. Jesus begins this good work in you, and will be faithful to complete it until the day of His return (Philippians 1:6). You may or may not experience feelings of spiritual elation. Those things depend upon our own unique personalities. Regardless of our feelings, Jesus is faithful and true (Revelation 19:11). Our feelings can be secondary to trust in Him (Proverbs 3:5).

No preparation is neccesary to receive the Creator of the Universe into your heart. You don't need to clean up your act to accept Jesus with a whole heart. We simply trust in Him to make all needed changes in our minds and hearts by the power of His Spirit AFTER we come. That is what faith is all about.
Are you ready?

If that moment has come...lets take the LAST STEP.
