It is essential for our Christian walk that we come together as a family of believers, for fellowship, encouragement, support, and spiritual growth.  Just as we all have many body parts that work together to make up a complete person, so also, though we are many individuals, together we make up one body in Christ  (Romans 12:4-5).  Together, those who believe are to be of one heart and one soul  (Acts 4:32), standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel  (Philippians 1:28).

To grow strong in our relationship with our Lord, we must spend time in His word, in prayer, in discipleship, and in fellowship.  As we grow in maturity in our relationship with the Lord, as we become equipped for the work of the ministry, we begin to let our light so shine before men, that they may see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven  (Matthew 5:16).  We are to give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine  (1 Timothy 4:13), and to sanctify the Lord God in our hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks the reason for the hope that is in us  (1 Peter 3:15 ).

Spiritual maturity comes with many blessings, as well as responsibilities.  The Lord has called us not only to salvation, but also to sanctification and service.  The Lord has given us spiritual gifts to be used for the service and edification of the body of Christ.  He has created us to use these gifts for His purpose, and only by using these gifts for His glory and the service of others can we receive the tremendous satisfaction and blessing that comes from having a close and intimate personal relationship with our Lord.

This is what you’ll find in our Small Groups, an opportunity to grow in your personal walk with your Lord and Savior, while cultivating new and lasting friendships with other believers, where you can use the gifts God has given you to encourage and bless others.
