AUSTRALIA

Amelia Emery has been a part of the Maranatha Chapel family for almost 7 years. She has been involved helping with the jr. high and high school group for 5 of those years with discipleship and counseling. After graduating Calvary Chapel Bible College in the spring of 2004 the Lord called her to come on staff with Family Ministries assisting youth pastor, Daniel Bentley with the high school girls, planning and organizing events, volunteer and Bible school coordinator. After working at the church for 2 years the Lord grew the burden in her heart for Australia, a desire that she had for over 7 years but didn't feel peace about the timing. The Lord was now showing her heart it was time to "Go and make disciples of all nations."

She left January 2007 spending 3 months in Australia in a mission training program as well as an outreach for 2 months in Thailand. After returning home June 2007 she felt the stirring again to serve in Australia long-term with YWAM (Youth With a Mission) Newcastle where she will be volunteering in their Youth Street coffee shop where they have a Christian coffee shop and clothing store dedicated to the youth of the area to help get them off the streets and into a personal relationship with Jesus. She will be doing a lot of what she had been doing at Maranatha Chapel ... making relationships with the teens of the area and being able to meet and counsel them; this is her heart.
