Educational Services International (ESI) is a non-profit Christian ministry organization that trains, equips, and sends believers to Communist and post-Communist countries. The public and private schools in which we teach have invited Christian teachers to have an impact on their students, develop meaningful friendships, and share their lives.  I teach American and British History and Civilization, as well as conversational English, in an Hungarian public high school.

Hungary's history is filled with foreign invasions, lost battles, conquest, occupation, death, and destruction.  Following WWI, Hungary lost 2/3 of its land and 30% of its people in the 1920 Treaty of Trianon and the Hungarians have not forgotten.  Today, 10,000,000 Hungarians live within the "current" border while 15,000,000 live within the "historic" border (which includes parts of Slovenia, Slovakia, Ukraine, Croatia, and Romania).

During WWII, while under Nazi occupation, 400,000 Jewish men, women, and children were sent to Auschwitz, the largest number from any country in Europe.  "Liberated" by the Russians, Hungary suffered a 40-year reign of terror under Communism, which included denying the existence of God in all aspects of life.

Please pray that the joy of the LORD will continue to shine through me with HIS light in this dark world as I come alongside to encourage fellow believers and share with unbelievers the Good News!
