The Olsons

The Olsons, in partnership with the Amphlett people of Papua New Guinea, are translating the Bible into the Gumawana language. The 370+ speakers of Gumawana live on 5 of the more than 25 islands that make up the Amphletts. Their work also involves training Papua New Guineans to translate and to teach literacy in the village. Clif is also a translation consultant so spends time each year checking translations in other languages of Papua New Guinea. The Olsons began their work in 1984.
