John Dollar Store
The First Saturday and Sunday of each month
This is a fun thing we do for the five year olds and the early elementary aged children.
We provide a store with simple little toys and candies for the kids to buy with money they have earned during their regular Saturday and Sunday children's ministry classes.
The kids really enjoy collecting the "John Dollars" each week and look forward to blowing the whole lot each month or what many of the kids do, they save up for some of the bigger prizes.
The name John Dollar comes from the fact the bills each have a scripture verse on them taken from the Gospel of John.
It's fun to watch the children shop for themselves, but even better it's a blessing to see that often they buy things for their siblings or their parents or their teachers.
If your child buys you a pair of silly glasses be sure to say thank you!
The children earn the 'John Dollars" by coming to church, bringing friends, saying the weekly Bible verses, answering questions in class, bringing their Bibles or other ways in which the teachers want to encourage the children.
Regular church attendance helps the children earn these dollars but the best is that they are getting into church and being with their Christian friends and hearing God's Word as they collect their little 'John Dollar' fortunes.
