for youth

1. Planting seeds (Mark 4:14): "The farmer sows the seed which is the Word of God." The Seeds of God's Word, are planted in the young child's lives through creative teaching, guided play time, songs, prayers and more by committed Christian caregivers.
2. Growing fruit (John 15:16): "You should go and bring forth fruit and your fruit should remain." The proof is in the fruit. Our experience is that kids who are in regular fellowship, learning God's Word in a loving and accepting environment, tend to reflect what they've learned in their actions, how they interact with others, and what they do with their time.
3. Knowing the Word (2 Peter 3:18): "Grow in grace and the knowledge of our Lord." We believe that to know God is to know His grace -- and that is something we emphasize strongly, so that kids of all ages will experience grace and learn to extend grace, mercy and compassion to others.
4. 'Rock Solid Christians (Matthew 7:24): "A wise man built his house upon a rock, and the storms beat upon that house but it did not fall." Unfortunately, no one grows up in this world without experiencing some hard times. We want to prepare our kids to deal with those times by building a strong spiritual foundation in their lives, and giving them Scripture-based tools to help them.

Hi,
I'm Doug Drake, the children's Pastor here at Maranatha Chapel.
I've been here since the dawn of time or some time last century.
We are committed to teaching God's Word to all the children who the Lord brings to us. From the youngest kids in our nursery until we hand them off to the youth department; we teach the Word.
It may seem silly to some to teach kids so young but it's very important to God so it's important to us.
Moses, Timothy, Samuel and other Bible heroes learned the Scriptures from their youth so we want to help raise up kids who have a love for God's Word.
Now it's not like we sit down the babies and run a power point presentation for them but kids of all ages can and do learn the marvelous stories found in the Bible, but most importantly is the connection to the Mighty God who reveals himself to us and the kids in the Scriptures.
If you have any questions about how we go about teaching the kids or why we have so much fun doing it just send me an email or give me a call or if you want come by a service and we can chat face to face.
